CARE STATION in Kiskunlacháza

The founder and director of the CARE STATION/Animal Shelter "Ebsegély Alapítvány"  in Kiskunlacháza, professional dog trainer Szilvia Hartai, has been a dedicated animal welfare activist for more than 20 years. Szilvia's actions as a trainer with other animal welfare organizations brought her to the attention of Animal Care Austria. In February 2011, when ACA required emergency housing for 18 rescued animals from Romania, Szilvia immediately provided a recovery space for these tragically neglected dogs. She worked several hours daily with these animals, giving them the love and attention that they had never before received. Thus began a close collaboration between Szilvia Hartai and Animal Care Austria.

The farm “Ebsegély Kutya” near the village of Kiskunlacháza has provided shelter to many rescued dogs and cats from Hungary and Romania. Financial support, building projects, animal rescue, medical care, puppy stations, castrations, doghouse donations, dog training, adoptions, Care Days and the "Improving the Human-Animal Relationship" project are among the weekly expenditures of Animal Care Austria for the Care Station "Ebsegély Alapítvány"  in Kiskunlacháza.

The farm requires urgent repair - a new roof and windows, a waste-water system, a recovery zone for sick or freshly-operated animals, new gating to accomodate the expansion of the dogs' play and training areas.
