Denise Das

Denise Das has over 20 years worth of experience in India, and as such is the perfect representative for ACA's stray dog castration project in India. The dramatic situation of constantly growing bands of stray dogs in India has resulted in regularly repeated dog massacres by the local authorities. As the general situation in India descends ever more into chaos, these programs have become increasingly hazardous.

3 years ago, Denise chanced to meet Carol Byers. Carol traveled with her to India and financed a castration program. Since then, Carol has provided financial support to Denise for her annual activities, which are operated through the auspices of an Indian animal welfare organization. Carol also provides moral support, trust and patience, which is especially necessary given the difficulty of the situation.

Denise is seen in the photo with Leila. Carol took a strong stand that Leila not be returned to the streets after she had beene spayed, because she had an exceptionally people-oriented nature. She was adopted by an Indian family and lives there as the favorite among 6 other adopted dogs. Denise visits her every year and delights in the success of this collaboration. She is very grateful for ACA's steady commitment to India's stray dogs and is proud to be a member of the ACA Team.
