Sophie

Hi Carol,

it has been appr. 2 years that we took Sophie from Animal Care Austria in our home.

Back than we had 4 dogs and Sophie was nr. 5. Our latest, nr. 6, is Ziva a female pup from Spain. 3 dogs, including Sophie are coming from a shelter and 3 are not. Particular that background makes a difference. The 3 from a shelter are so thankfull, while the other 3 takes the happy life for granted.

In the case of Sophie, she is so thankfull. Her story:

In the summer of 2008 we came into contact with Animal Care, especially Carol Byers.
We noticed Sophie on the net and her colour setting was the same one of the other.
So I went to Hungary to have a look at Sophie. Sophie was 1,5 years old and fully grown.
A bit shy and with fear in the beginning Sophie came into the group of 4, a pac.

We choose for the controlled shock effect and the situation settled within 30 minutes.
Back than we lived in a farmhouse in the hills with 3500 m2 of land and Sophie played and enjoyed it. Because Sophie comes from a shelter and was not used to live in a family situation is was very important to let her know that we, humans, were the pac leaders. For a grown up dog this takes appr. 4 weeks to get used to the day to day business, but than you have gold in your hands.

Sophie was and is so happy and so thankfull. This house and garden is her save haven and paradise. Since the beginning almost every day she went, with the others, for a walk in the forest. We went on trips together into the mountains, sometimes a 5 hours drive. During the summer she is lying on an old matras in the garden in the sun. Once inside she comes every hour to give a kiss and to get a hug. She plays in a funny way with 1 particular dog. Sophie will make sure that nothing will go wrong in the house, nothing broken or what so ever. Nothing is allowed to go wrong in paradise; that is how thankfull she is.
Sophie will stay with us for the rest of her life wherever we go.

In the shelter, despite how well they are taking care of (and Animal Care Austria does a perfect job), the dogs suffer.
Sophie was not a popular puppy, is not the prettiest, not the smartest, but so sweet. Taking a dog from the shelter, especially a grown one brings you so much love and they are so thankfull.

With a kiss from Sophie,

Emma
